RePatch / Transitional Employment
The RePatch Program is a partnership between the City of Eugene, the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce and the Viking Textile Maker Hub (VTMH) that addresses unemployment and textile waste reduction through an innovative industrial sewing training program. The initiative aims to provide job skills for individuals transitioning out of homelessness while giving surplus city-owned clothing a second life.
The Re-Patch Program is available to graduates of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored Industrial Sewing Training provided by VTMH and hosted at their facility in the Whiteaker neighborhood. The training focuses on equipping participants with industrial sewing skills. Residents from local shelter organizations, including St. Vincent de Paul, SquareOne Villages, Everyone Village and Community Supported Shelters, are eligible to apply. Participants selected for this training program receive a stipend, a certificate of completion, a general recommendation letter and hands-on experience using industrial-grade sewing equipment, helping pave the way for sustainable employment in the textile industry.
A key element of the initiative involves repurposing surplus clothing owned by the city. Graduates of the sewing program will remove logos from jackets, coats and windbreakers previously used by city staff. The refreshed garments will then be distributed to local shelters and the city’s Community Court program, providing warm, durable clothing for vulnerable community members.
By combining job creation with waste prevention, the partnership demonstrates a commitment to building a stronger and more resilient Eugene.

Fashion Shows
VTMH has been producing a Halloween fashion show every October since 2022, called "HALLOWILD." Over 10 local designers each year, have created costumes for these shows, and we've been able to put on an incredible event for our community. The show is open to anyone who wants to participate, giving a platform to any local artists that want to participate. This year's show is on Saturday, October 3rd at John Henry's in downtown Eugene. Send us an email for more information about Hallowild, or to sign up.
